Govt should control profiteering & artificial price hike in Ramadan: PAT

khurram nawaz gandapur

Khurram Nawaz Gandapur, the Secretary General of the Pakistan Awami Tehreek, has said that traders and shopkeepers should refrain from profiteering during Ramadan. He stated that unjustified price hikes of fruits, vegetables, and food items during Ramadan displease Allah. He emphasized that people should not ruin their Hereafter for the sake of temporary worldly gains and should not inflict hardship on Allah's creatures.

The PAT Secretary General mentioned that inflation and high prices have made life difficult for ordinary people. He said that if someone cannot afford to eat their fill due to profiteering, or cannot observe fasts, then the punishment for this unjust profiteering will be borne by the profiteers. He expressed gratitude that Allah has granted us, the believers, an opportunity to avail the blessings of Ramadan in our lives. The best way to show gratitude, he said, for this blessing and favor is to benefit others and not cause undue hardship to anyone.

Khurram Nawaz Gandapur stated in his statement that perhaps it is not the responsibility of the government to control inflation and crack down on profiteers, hence unjust profiteering continues year after year and reaches its peak during Ramadan. He said that Ramadan itself is a month of self-accountability and God-consciousness.
