Prof Rohan of Singapore terms Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri as one of the greatest scholars of the 21st century

Professor Rohan Gunaratna, the founder of the International Centre for Political Violence and Terrorism Research in Singapore, praised the efforts of Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri, the founding-leader of Minhaj-ul-Quran International, in countering terrorism and promoting international peace.

In a video message, the scholar lauded Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri's scholarly contributions extensively and stated that he ranks as one of the greatest religious scholars of the 21st century, particularly for his endeavors in safeguarding the reputation of Islam and Muslims.

Professor Gunaratna mentioned that Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri's books are being used as textbooks at the research center in Singapore, recognizing his services in counter-terrorism and peace promotion. He highlighted the significance of Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri's comprehensive documents (fatwas) against suicide bombings, stating that they have facilitated psychological rehabilitation for extremists and radicals, serving as compelling evidence.

The Singaporean scholar emphasized that Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri's Islamic narrative against terrorism is an excellent intellectual endeavor, bringing those who deviate from the fundamental principles of Islam back to the mainstream. Gunaratna further asserted that Deputy Chairman Professor Dr. Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri of Minhaj University Lahore is playing a crucial role in strengthening cooperation between Pakistan, the Muslim world, and other regions. He noted his active involvement in bridging the gap between the East and the West, particularly in the Gulf-Pakistan nexus.
